Hotel Diamond Plaza

I've stayed here twice, first with students on a college trip and then with my family two years later. It's not a fancy place, but it has what you need for a stay. Service is quick, the food is good, and the staff are polite. A good option if you're after a clean, tidy room and will spend most of the day exploring Chandigarh.

The food is good, but the rooms don't measure up. The furniture and rooms are old, while it seems only the reception has been updated to draw people in. For what they charge, it's not worth it. You can find a better room elsewhere for the same price.

I picked this place because it was close to the Sector 17 shopping plaza, though it's about 1-2 km from the main shopping plaza of Sector 14. For one night, it was okay, and the rooms were just basic. The reception looks much more posh in the photos than the rooms do in person. At around 3000 for the night, I expected a better room. The buffet breakfast choices were limited too.

We came all the way from Pune, and the hotel looked after our family with a lot of care. The staff and service were commendable, the rooms were spacious and very clean, and we didn't run into a single problem. They're setting a strong example of hospitality. I'd visit again for a peaceful stay in Chandigarh.
