The Piccadily Chandigarh

Piccadilly Hotel is a handy mid-range option in Chandigarh, near the city center, for tourists or business travelers. Rooms are spacious and clean, with AC, a flat-screen TV, and room service. Staff are friendly and cooperative, though the speed of service can vary. Breakfast is included, but the food quality is mixed and the variety limited. Free internet, parking, conference facilities, and a banquet are available. The rooms are comfortable and staff helpful, but food and upkeep could be better.

The room layout was decent, with a nicely arranged space and a comfortable loveseat sofa. Bell staff were friendly and helpful, and the location is convenient for shopping and sights like Sukhna Lake and the Rock Garden. Still, maintenance and service need a lot of work. In my room, the bathroom exhaust fan didn't work, the hair dryer overheated and stopped, and there was a damp smell. Other guests had reported similar problems. Wi-Fi was very weak, making even basic video streaming hard, and the rooms aren't well soundproofed. A simple drinking water request took unusually long, so I had to go to reception myself. They wouldn't provide an extra room key despite a reasonable request, and the key slot jammed with paper felt unprofessional. Elevators were noticeably slow, especially at busy times. The view from the room wasn't appealing, and opening the curtains raised privacy concerns because nearby homes faced the windows directly. The location gives the hotel potential, but poor upkeep, slow service, and little attention to guest comfort seriously affected the stay.

The food was disappointing for what they charge, and the rooms also felt neglected and weren't properly clean. For the price, the quality falls below average, with basic upkeep and attention to detail missing. This hotel may have been good once, but it seems to be coasting on its old reputation now. I wouldn't recommend it in its current state, since it doesn't feel worth the money.

The rooms are comfortable, and the location and the hotel's long history are its strongest points. Breakfast was poor, though, and restaurant service was very bad. The overall feel is a little above average.
