There was noise well past midnight since the hotel also has a bar. Room service only starts after 9:00 am, so there’s no help with an early checkout, and you should expect to carry your own luggage up to the room. Check your food bill too. I caught an extra charge because I’d taken a picture.

We had to shout for 10-15 mins before anyone opened the gates when we arrived at night. Then, when we were leaving early the next morning, there was nobody at reception to let us out. Dinner was also very limited: the complimentary meal was just Puri and curry. They didn’t have enough water bottles either. A very bad experience.

We paid nearly 4,000 for the room, which was disappointing. The rooms were quite dusty and moldy, and the air conditioning didn’t work properly in any of the three rooms we tried. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained, and the friendly, welcoming staff made the stay comfortable. Empire Residency is one of the best hotels in the Chengannur locality. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting the area, whether for a short stay or a longer one.
