Arunaachala Residency

I came to the restaurant at 10:20 AM, within the time the receptionist had given me, but the staff refused to serve breakfast and said it closed at 10:30 AM. My booking included breakfast, and when I checked in at 8:00 AM that day, I had told reception I would leave early the next morning. The receptionist said I could have breakfast that day instead and told me to come between 10:15 AM and 10:30 AM. When I raised this with reception, Mr. Annamalik denied giving me those instructions and wouldn't acknowledge the mix-up or offer a solution. This left me without a prepaid service and caused inconvenience and a loss of trust. It showed poor coordination, no accountability, and unprofessional conduct. I’m recording what happened so management and future guests are aware.

The location is loud and busy, and the room and service were both bad. There were cockroaches, a moldy smell, and black mold visible across the walls under fresh paint. They wouldn't let Zomato deliver to my room, so I had to go downstairs for my orders, and they wouldn't change a 500 rupees note either. Overpriced, it should cost 100 rupees a night. I can't recommend staying here.

The food is also very, very bad. Staff were really bad too, saying check-in was 24 hours but charging a two day tariff. Think twice before staying here. I strongly suggest that no one lives here. Extremely unethical.

The experience was average overall. The local food options are good, though mostly non-veg, and breakfast in the morning has different options each day and is good. It's near the Metro Station, and one of the best restaurants nera Chepauk Stadium. The daily newspaper and on-call service were good, but the bathroom needs improvement.
