The hotel is now called 'Half moon palace'. I stayed for 7 days while visiting Sankara nethralaya hospital and had a very pleasant stay. The reception staff were kind and responsive, the rooms were clean, and the rates were reasonable. It’s in a prime location with easy access to branches of Sankara nethralaya hospital and Apollo hospital.
The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, with a wardrobe and hangers. There are triple occupancy rooms, the rates are affordable, and they allow late checkout for a little extra charge. If you’re with senior citizens, this is a good place to stay. The only drawback is that water stagnates in the locality when it rains. Otherwise, everything is fine. The hotel is very close to the US CONSOLATE, almost opposite and an easy walk. Cross the Subway and walk 50m to get there, which is a big plus since you can’t take a mobile phone or other electronic gadgets with you. Sangeetha veg Arestaurant is 400m away, Thousand lights metro station is 800m away, and there’s a bus stop within walking distance. Marina beach, Kapaleeshwara temple, and other attractions are 5-6km away, while Semmoji Poonga is 2km away.
The service is good, the toilets are fine, and hot water is available. The beds are fine too, though the room A/C is average. It’s very convenient for Kerala people. The place needs to be a little cleaner, and the hotel location is very bad, with poor cleanliness and bad smells outside. 🚶👋 Any Q?
Everything else was good: the staff were supportive, they let me check in earlier than agreed, and hot water was available. But during peak time, other guests kept using the lift, and its horrible door-closing announcement carried on until late at night. The Double Deluxe bedroom was very cramped and didn’t look like the picture in the ad. Hotels usually offer breakfast for free, but here they charged even for coffee and tea. I paid around ₹2000 booking through ibibo. Some other customers said it might cost less if you meet them directly, though I’m not sure, so find that out yourself.
The staff were extremely nice and took care of all my needs. It’s a decent place to stay, and my questions and concerns were handled promptly. They don’t have single rooms, which was a bit inconvenient, but I’d recommend staying here.
