The receptionist behaved so badly that I hope I never see him again. The cleanliness was awful, and it felt like staying here could risk our health. Please don’t bring your family to this lodging.

For people taking courses at Madras Veterinary College, I’d recommend this place completely. It felt like a second home during those two long weeks away. I’ve stayed several times as a solo woman traveller between 2023-2025, and each visit was great. The receptionist checked in regularly and made sure I had no problems. I had a first-floor room with an attached balcony and a smaller room with a sofa, overlooking the Animal NGO next door. They cleaned the room regularly when I asked, which was what I preferred. Shiv Sagar is right next door, so food isn’t an issue. I’ve stayed at another nearby hotel and at the college guest house, and liked this one best. I’d call and book directly, though, since the information online may not be accurate.

The hotel wasn’t suitable for a stay. Hygiene and sanitation fell short, and the conditions made the visit unpleasant and didn’t feel safe or healthy.

At 10:30 pm, I had no option but to book a different hotel. I’d made my reservation through agoda, but the reception staff denied having it even after I showed them the booking. They wouldn’t check the hotel email, saying they didn’t use those systems, although hotels have always received an email for my agoda bookings before. They said I could only stay if I made a direct booking and paid there. Another guest with an online booking was refused too and given the same instruction. I tried calling agoda customer care many times, but no one answered; messaging them didn’t help either. The two people at reception were rude and yelled at me. Avoid this awful place.
