I booked five nights through bookings.com in January 2025 for Rs. 3298, and I have the invoice. At the hotel, the receptionist refused to honor that price, said they didn’t accept the bookings.com booking at that amount, and said I couldn’t stay five nights in a row. He demanded Rs. 1300 per night instead. I felt I had no real choice and paid, since there weren’t good hotels nearby. The room was very old, dirty, and in terrible shape. The bathroom constantly smelled of cigarette smoke. I believe they cancel portal bookings after taking payment so they can claim the guest didn’t check in and avoid paying the portal commission. In my view, the low prices shown online are meant to draw people in, then charge more once they arrive, when finding another room at the last minute is difficult. The staff seemed prepared to do this with the owner’s support. I couldn’t reach bookings.com customer care by phone or chat, and even after two months I still hadn’t received a reply. I also believe the positive reviews on bookings.com, agoda.com, goibibo, and makemytrip.com are fake. Check Google reviews to see the reality. Please don’t book here.
