We booked the room we needed for one day, but at the last minute the staff said no other rooms were available and put us on the ground floor beside the dining area. The property was nowhere near as clean as the pictures online. The staff didn’t seem welcoming, and for what we paid it felt like staying in a PG. They call it a three-star property, but the basics were lacking. We had to ask for water, then got only half-liter bottles. The toiletries and breakfast were below par, the dining area was too small, and there wasn’t much open space to walk around. It gave us a very negative feeling, and the only thing going for it was being near a celebrity house, which was no use to us. There’s no value for money here. It’s poorly maintained for the price, and you could stay at a four- or five-star property for the same amount. Don’t waste your money booking it.

We live at the same address, and explained that at the front desk. Even after both of us provided ID, we had no way to produce proof for our child in a new city. Requiring the child’s ID is neither standard practice nor a legal requirement. The issue wasn’t only the policy, but how it was enforced. The man at the front desk was rude and lacked basic customer etiquette. Rules still need to be handled humanely, and we experienced neither professionalism nor compassion. We had arrived after a long journey for a last-minute family getaway, with a three-night booking worth ₹23,000 at Avenue 11 Residence, Chennai. We were denied entry because my child and I didn’t have additional documents, though only my husband was asked for documents at first. We were treated very poorly. The staff made no effort to help or suggest an alternative, and bluntly told us to “get out of the property.” It was late, we were new to the city, and we felt scared and helpless. No family with a child should be treated that way. Thankfully, we found somewhere else that same night. It was beautiful, warm, and professional, with guests from many countries, and showed us what real hospitality can look like. Our experience at Avenue 11 Residence was traumatic and deeply disappointing. I’d never recommend it, especially to families or travelers new to Chennai.

The location is very accessible. We got around easily by MTC bus and Chennai Metro, and autos and app-based taxis were readily available. There are also good restaurants and cafes within walking distance. My two-night stay was lovely. The check-in and checkout were smooth, and the staff were helpful. They let us leave our bags both before check-in and after checkout, since our train was early and delayed. The rooms and bathroom were spacious, clean, and well maintained, and reception and housekeeping responded promptly. Breakfast could start a little earlier. I’d definitely return.

The room had no window, and the space, including the bathroom, was hardly 100 square feet. It was stuffy, so we barely spent an hour in it all day. We used it just to sleep, but even with an afternoon return flight, we checked out after breakfast because a mall, restaurant, or even the road felt better than staying in that room. There weren’t many breakfast options, but the breakfast issue is a separate story. After the owner replied, I had no way to respond on the platform, so adding this here. On MakeMyTrip, I couldn’t find any mention that the room had no window. It said “city view,” and I don’t know how a closed room without a window can have that. The listed room size of 144 square feet is also wrong. Your website says check-in is 12.00 pm, so please provide the correct information. It’s true you let us check in at 10.00 am. Please update the details about the window, room size, and check-in and checkout times. You could also list the neighboring toilet flush as an extra “music” facility.
