Hotel Cinemascope

The room upkeep was awful. The AC didn’t work, and there were far too many mosquitoes. At reception, we waited over 20 minutes for the bill, and the person handling things gave no proper response. Jagadeesh and the reception staff behaved very badly and seemed focused only on money. They set their own checkout time, charged extra for card payment, provided no breakfast, and negotiated the room rate. If this continues, the hotel will surely have to shut down. Don’t stay here, it’s a complete waste of money.

Affordable and clean, with great service. I liked the room and atmosphere, and had an awesome time walking along the nearby beach.

We stayed at CinemaScope on 15 Jan 2026 and had the worst hotel experience. The property looked nothing like its photos. Our room was dirty, the balcony was covered with dust and leaves, the sheets were torn, and mosquitoes got in through open windows. The toilet flush didn’t work, so we had to use bucket water. There was no hot water and we had to use other rooms to bathe. There wasn’t a proper food facility either. We paid ₹7,000 for one night for two rooms and didn’t get even basic amenities. The owner was extremely rude and arrogant. We were two women with three kids, checking in late at night, and were told, “If you didn’t like the room, why didn’t you find another hotel?” When we mentioned making a complaint, they laughed. It felt unsafe, unhygienic, and disrespectful. Families and women travelling, please avoid this place.

I gave it one star because zero wasn’t an option. We suspected there might be places to hide a camera in the room and called the staff, but they didn’t respond properly. After a lot of follow-up, they checked and found no camera. Still, we felt there was a real possibility, so we asked them to cover the hole. The location was the only good thing. Everything else was bad, including the staff’s behavior, how they handled requests, the food, and the cleanliness. I hope they improve.
