Hotel Ramada Raj Park

The room was below par compared with the photos on Google and the website. It had a 32-inch TV with a repaired remote, no charging point beside the bed, no clothes hanger, and some lights didn’t work. The dressing mirror lights were out too. There was an exposed electrical wire from a conduit in the bathroom, a leaking tap, and poor cleanliness throughout, especially behind the TV. Breakfast in the morning was served in name only and had no taste. This room isn’t worth even one star, despite being listed as four stars on the website. Even my PG room is better, which is ridiculous. Please don’t book it.

The last thing I had was rasam, and I’d have regretted missing it. Easily 100/10. Thanks to Mr Balaji for the great service. At my company’s Christmas buffet, the starters were the standout, 10/10. The mutton sheek kebab, crunchy veg spring roll, chicken 65, and Lotus spicy crunchyness were especially tasty. I was already half full by the time I got to the main course, which didn’t quite match that satisfaction. Main course was 8/10. I found the mutton Biryani average, though my colleagues liked it. Podi idly was excellent. I wouldn’t recommend the green pasta or cutlet. Desserts and ice cream were 6/10. Kajuur gheer was excellent, while the others weren’t special. I finished with vinegar-dipped salads, and the fruit salads were the usual sort.

I’m still struggling to get my refund from swiggy because they say they haven’t received communication from the restaurant. I’m posting this so future guests know what happened, and hope the hotel improves its communication, billing, and accountability. I stayed at Raj Park Hotel, Chennai from 10-13 Nov 2025. I booked two buffet dinners at its in-house restaurant, The Quintessence, using the Swiggy Dineout app, which showed a 50% discount. I paid INR 1,568 through the app before dining, and the restaurant manager initially accepted that payment. After the meal, I was told the offer wasn’t valid and had to pay the full amount again. Since I was staying at the hotel, they added it to my checkout invoice on 13.11.2025, so I felt I had no choice but to pay twice. The hotel wouldn’t start a refund for the Swiggy payment and sent me to chase Swiggy myself, even though the hotel was the service provider. The refund confirmation they gave me was an A4 sheet with a manager’s seal and signature, not official letterhead. The whole billing issue caused unnecessary stress, inconvenience, and financial loss during my stay. Guests need transparency and proper coordination with third-party platforms.

The staff were nice, and the rooms were pretty good. But service could be extremely slow and incompetent, the WiFi was down for maybe 10+ hours, and the bathrooms sometimes smelled. I think the place is more like a 3-star hotel, and the prices are too high for what you get.
