Olive Castles Inn by OYO Rooms

If you’re in Chennai to join a company like Wipro, Cognizant, or Accenture, this is a handy place to stay before finding a PG. Cognizant is the closest, about 5 km away. There’s a park right across from the building and a store nearby, too. The rooms are small, so they suit solo travel better, but they have AC and a TV with Tata sky. Most movie channels may not be available. The washrooms were clean, the food was good enough, and you can ask to have dinner served in your room for Rs. 100. Staff were friendly, WiFi is free at 20mbps, and for the price it’s a decent, pocket-friendly stay.

I’m staying for three more nights after the first three, and I like the place a lot. The room is neat and clean, with a bed, cupboard, mirror, water heater, TV, and WiFi. I’ve also got an open terrace with my single room. There’s parking for all guests, which is a big plus. It seems like a great option for a single person or a family, depending on which room you choose.

I’ve stayed here two or three times. It’s a calm, quiet place with decent rooms for a couple, and it works well for a day or two. There’s no extra bed if you’re planning for two adults and one more person. Breakfast is just okay, enough to get the day started, but food lovers may not enjoy it much. They may ask couples for a marriage certificate. It happened to me the first time, and they follow OYO’s rules strictly. Check the do’s and don’ts before booking. Only married couples are allowed.

The only real drawback was finding a good place to eat within walking distance, around 500m. Food delivery apps do cover the area, though. The rest was very good: it’s around 2 km from the Elcot SEZ, clean and well maintained, with polite staff and a nice view from both balconies. Breakfast was good, and the tea came in little thermos cups, a thoughtful touch.
