OYO 39354 Bharath residency

I’d strongly avoid booking this place online. I booked through Agoda, a Singapore company that apparently deals with OYO, an Indian company, which in turn deals with “Bharath Residency.” The hotel management apparently has an ongoing dispute with OYO, yet Agoda, OYO and the hotel all still allow online reservations. Agoda charged my card, but when I arrived, the hotel representatives, who looked like scammers to me, refused to honor the booking and told me to call OYO and cancel. To check in, I had to pay again in cash, since they had no electronic payment system. The room was nothing like the pictures on Google. The bed, cabinets, sofa and bathroom were dirty and stained, and the door was missing deadbolts. At least the AC worked somewhat. The receipt for the cash payment was given reluctantly and didn’t say “Bharath Residency,” it said “Suriyaa International.” You have no breakfast to look forward to, and the hotel guy who checked me in said there was no Wi-Fi. There was a sheet with Wi-Fi details on the back of the room door, but I didn’t want to risk identity theft or something by connecting to it. You’d sleep with your eyes open. To get the online payment refunded, I had to call OYO to cancel. They said the booking was cancelled, but sent no notification. Then they transferred me to a manager, who told me to contact Agoda and Google its phone numbers. When I insisted, they gave me a couple of numbers that didn’t work. Agoda’s cancellation webpage required me to create an account, but the account creation had technical difficulties. The phone numbers on its website were international numbers I couldn’t call without a phone service that supports that. I can’t stress enough how bad this place is. The Google pictures are totally falsified. Check other users’ review pictures for what it really looks like.
