OYO 78633 Flagship Alfa Palace

I gave this place one star because I needed to use the restroom. The masjid opposite the hotel was locked around 9:15 pm, so I came out through the back gate and asked at this hotel if I could use theirs. They clearly refused. I want them to know that, as I understand the government rule, every hotel and restaurant has to let people use the restroom.

There’s a masjid within walking distance, and a good restaurant and food center nearby with affordable prices. The workers were polite, and the place had a clean, neat environment. Wifi, TV, and AC were available too.

For around INR 3000 a day, I got two AC rooms at Alfa palace near T Nagar Masjid, one for me and one for my parents. They had TV, WIFI, cable, chilling AC, hot water from a geaser, and car parking, which is hard to find around T NAGAR or Pondi Bazaar. In Pondi Bazaar we first looked at places like Suriya international, on the 4th floor, where a room for three was also 3000 a day. It smelled of smoke, wasn’t senior citizen friendly, and we’d have had to leave the car on the main road, risking towing and paying 60 to 80 an hour for parking, so the budget would have gone up. Alfa palace is a good choice compared to Pondi Bazaar hotels. The one drawback is that for pure veg food, you have to go to Pondi Bazaar. Apart from that, everything was good.

I was disappointed, especially to find this listed as an oyo hotel. The rooms and bathrooms are tiny, the area is clumsy, service is absent, and it’s very costly. I wouldn’t recommend it for official or family stays, or to anyone.
