The complimentary breakfast was a letdown, with no choices and whatever they served was what you had to eat. This is an old hotel currently being renovated, and rooms facing the road can be noisy enough to spoil the peace. It could work for an overnight stay for a US consulate visit if there aren't better options. They replied to this review six years later. Better late than never.

Breakfast was really nice, and the stay itself was pleasant with a very good room. The AC was a bit dated and didn't cool well enough. The location makes it easy to get around north Chennai and is close to the US consulate. They don't allow unmarried couples, and there aren't many restaurants nearby, but otherwise it's a suitable room for couples to enjoy.

The main reason to consider this place is its location near the US consulate, along with the low price. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it. The service and upkeep are below average, especially the poorly maintained bathrooms, and the restaurant food is only average. Fans and ACs made so much noise it was hard to sleep. The night after I checked in, I was told they needed my room for maintenance and had to move. It deserves two stars, but I added one for the location and price.

Breakfast was good, and the hotel is very close to the consulate, but the rooms were a problem. The AC in the first room didn't work at all, so we asked to move. In the next room it barely worked and wasn't useful. The TV remote also failed; after several calls they still couldn't fix it. The linens smelled bad, and they didn't provide a dental kit.

The reception kindly held my luggage while I was at my visa interview, and the hotel is close to the US Consulate. Breakfast was surprisingly decent too. But avoid the first floor: it's cramped, has no ventilation, smells foul, and is infested with bed bugs. This place doesn't deserve to be on OYO.
