After checkout, they called to demand ₹60 for water bottles. That’s ridiculous, even by budget hotel standards. There was no free water, the bathroom taps leaked, there was no hot water, and the TV didn’t work. Nothing in the room worked properly. The staff were rude, arrogant, and completely unprofessional. This place has no hospitality, maintenance, or respect for guests. An absolutely terrible hotel. Don’t waste your time or money here.

The response to our hygiene complaints was “it is what it is,” and they made no effort to fix anything. After checkout, the room was quickly assigned to someone else, which left me wondering whether it had been properly cleaned and the linen changed. I can’t recommend staying here until basic hygiene standards are met. At Treebo Elan, Chennai, the property looked nothing like the online pictures. A board outside says Treebo Elan home stay, and it felt like a home stay rather than a hotel. Our room was dirty and smelled unpleasant, with dusty black marks on the walls and a floor that didn’t look properly swept or mopped. The shower leaked, and the bed linen and towels were in poor condition and didn’t seem fresh. Breakfast was included, but we didn’t feel comfortable eating it because of hygiene concerns. The plates were cracked and the cutlery wasn’t clean. The property badly needs deep cleaning, repainting, and proper maintenance, especially in the bathrooms and toilets.

The one good thing about this lodge is that it’s close to the visa appointment center. It’s a lodge or hostel, not a hotel, so keep your expectations low if you have to book it. The rooms stink so badly they gave me a headache. It felt like staying in a dump, with cockroaches and rat droppings everywhere. I cut my trip short and moved to another hotel. Avoid this place if you can, especially if you’re travelling with family.

My room had cockroaches, tiny insects in the bed, and a clogged washroom drain. The heater didn’t work either. When I brought these problems up, staff said I should have told them an hour before my bath that I needed hot water. A very bad experience. Avoid staying here.
