SPOT ON Eswar Residency

My wife and I, visiting from Malaysia, stayed in Room 107 on January 28, 2026. The AC didn’t work, and its control was broken into pieces. There were no towels or soap. The bedsheet had lipstick marks, as if a couple had used it, and the toilet looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned since the hotel was built. I’m amazed Indian authorities let a hotel in this condition operate. I’ve seen people from India call it clean, which I can’t believe. What a disgrace for the owner. Foreigners, watch out and don’t trust the other reviews. I had to give one star, though I would have given zero.

I paid for a room a month ahead, but they refused to give it to me on check-in day. Mr. Krishna at reception was very rude and said they wouldn’t provide a room or refund my money. The staff treated us badly throughout. Mr. Krishna said they had no connection with OYO, and we waited three hours just to get a call from OYO saying we couldn’t get a room. Never go here.

The staff at Eswar Residency in Chennai were polite, helpful, and ready to assist. The location was convenient, close to major attractions and transportation. My room was comfortable and clean, with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and a clean bathroom. I slept well in the comfortable bed, and housekeeping kept up with it daily. Room service was prompt too. I had a pleasant stay.
