Terra Hotels T nagar

Hotel Name: Terra, with no board on the building. I wouldn’t book here. I saw several negative reviews but decided to try it, and ran into all the issues people described. With no sign showing the hotel’s name, it was nearly impossible to identify and seemed unofficial, so I questioned whether it was legitimate. I also noticed another Google Maps listing called “Terra Hotels” that looked suspicious, and shared the same street number as Five Stones Hotel T Nagar. The reception gave a curt answer when I asked about Wi-Fi, saying renovation was going on, and offered no help. The main problem was hygiene: the sheets were dirty, the rooms hadn’t been cleaned, and there was no housekeeping. I couldn’t use the shower, and the toilet was only usable for peeing, partly because the flush didn’t work. The only thing that worked was the air conditioner. I had to rely on nearby malls and restaurants for basic needs. The front desk staff were indifferent and often rude, with little or no assistance. I can’t recommend staying here.

I was travelling from abroad and got to Chennai late, after booking online through OYO rooms. The place was disgusting as soon as I walked in, with a terrible smell, mosquitoes, and cockroaches everywhere. I got up in the middle of the night and looked for a decent hotel nearby, and managed to find one. I left without staying, even though I’d paid for the full stay. Please don’t consider this place when travelling to Chennai.

This is a total rip-off. If you prepay, they’ll cancel your booking. They ask for 2000-3000 extra and simply cancel if you won’t pay it. The prices on OYO are nowhere close to the real rates. It feels highly unsafe for families and children.

The staff didn’t seem interested in fixing anything. I had to switch rooms twice, and both rooms had the same problems: no water, a TV that wouldn’t work, and a broken lift. One of the worst stays I’ve had.
