Opera Residency

I stayed for 3-4 days and was quite comfortable. The rooms are neat and well maintained, and the staff are courteous and well mannered. It’s a decent, economical hotel near Adyar, though the comfort level isn’t five star. There’s no restaurant or coffee shop. I’d recommend it especially for solo travellers, less so for families. This was before the OYO branding.

I’m staying here now and will be checking out today. I picked it because it was close to my business area and had no other option. The washbasin leaks, the AC drips straight onto the bed, and the phone doesn’t work. I’ve seen cockroaches on the bed and a centipede in the bathroom, and they haven’t changed the towel.

They said parking was available when I booked, but there isn’t any. Booking through OYO didn’t seem to mean anything either. The hotel was very bad, and the staff were even worse. I booked just one day, stayed only 10 hours, and felt like I’d wasted that time. The staff should be fired immediately. I’d give it negative stars if I could.

A lovely family stay in a good location, with whatever you need close by. The staff are friendly and helpful, and I’d definitely suggest the hotel to friends and relatives.
