The Kings Park Grand

I really liked the breakfast, with its large selection of good food. The location is handy, midway between the VAC, about a 10 minute walk away, and the OFC, around five minutes on foot. It's a decent place, but rooms are nothing special in my opinion. Check-in took a while because the rooms are usually occupied.

The hotel's closeness to the Chennai Consulate was the only reason I stayed. I would have left as soon as I saw the conditions otherwise. The leaking ceiling and slippery floors felt like a serious safety risk, especially for anyone traveling with seniors or young children, and management took no responsibility. For a hotel priced and presented this way, the upkeep is a joke. Never again, avoid it.

The smell in the passage to the rooms was so bad I could hardly breathe there or in the lift. The passage roofs were leaking and had fungus, and the bathrooms had cockroaches and loose doors. The air conditioner showed 17 degrees but gave no cooling, more like a fan. Breakfast was only idly and dosa, brought to the room, so don't expect a buffet. They change the food plans as they wish. Food was pathetic, and I couldn't get a bill when I booked rooms through Agoda. Staff were rude when I asked questions. Management should train them to give better hospitality.

I canceled my next booking after this stay. The place had been good when we came in 2023, but this time the rooms were badly maintained, with damp floors you couldn't walk on barefoot and bathrooms in poor condition. There were no towels on the floors to keep them dry. The lifts smelled awful, food was far too expensive, and the buffet breakfast was pathetic.
