The owner Mr. Nandagopal and the other staff made us feel special. They were so helpful, and in just two days they showed us a lot of warmth, love, and respect. The rooms and surroundings were also great and well maintained. My mom did have trouble with the stairs since there’s no elevator, but otherwise everything was good.

At this Madurai ayyanar Restaurant, the food is pocket friendly, and the mutton dishes are especially good. It’s authentic Tamil nadu style food, from soup through desserts. If you want to try a real Chettinad style dish, it’s worth it.

The water for freshening up is Chennai’s salty water, enough to burn your eyes. The TV has only Tamil channels, and in some rooms the switch box isn’t close to the bed. You do get a mirror, a locker, super fast WiFi, and comfortable beds, with the usual OYO style arrangement. It’s an okay place. Rich kid? Starbucks is nearby.

The room was clean, but there was no bedsheet, soap, or towel at first. They brought those when we asked. The water was a bit salty, and service was a little off, maybe because we checked in at 11:30pm.

I don’t understand all the good reviews. The water they provided was incredibly salty, almost like seawater. I know Chennai is dealing with a water crisis, but even the water for brushing your teeth was salt water, and the bath water was salty too.
