The hosts, Shaan and Ajaaz, looked after us really well. They arranged autos whenever we needed them and helped coordinate with locals for a Shikara ride in the Alappuzha backwaters, so negotiating was easier. Food is made on demand and tastes like a delicious home-cooked meal, light on the stomach but full of flavor. The place is right by the backwaters in a quiet part of Cherthala, with spacious rooms and beautiful views. A great spot to get away from city noise and unwind.

We were four friends and felt a bit unsure about safety for us women before checking in. Meeting the owner put us at ease. He went out of his way to help us feel safe and comfortable, including arranging transport for getting around and sightseeing. Orchid Lakeview Homestay sits by Vembanad lake, with a breathtaking view and a lovely atmosphere. The rooms were neat and spacious, the home-cooked food was delicious, and Rajkumar did his work diligently. Highly recommend it for a quiet getaway.

The view of the vembanad lake is beautiful, and we could enjoy watching a variety of birds from the stay. The host shafi was kind and very hospitable, and the food was full of flavor and made us feel at home. It was just my mom and me on this trip, but we felt very safe. I’d definitely recommend it for a peaceful, serene vacation.
