Maharaja INN Chikmagalur

Mr.Gopal and Mr.Harish were especially kind and quick to sort out what we needed, and they even arranged a good cab for us. We stayed two days with family at HOTEL MAHARAJA INN. It’s in a good location, decent and family-friendly, with very nice staff. Thank you, keep it up.

The location is close to the busstand, and the room was amazing for an affordable price. I stayed here for three days.

The room was clean and comfortable, but I’m giving 0 stars because they asked our group leader on WhatsApp to leave 5 star reviews. They should have asked whether we enjoyed our stay and invited us to review our experience. Instead, they assumed we’d had a pleasant time and said they expected 20 positive reviews from our group of 24, including 4 kids. That was uncouth and heavy-handed. They said they’d given us a good price and expected the “favour” to be returned with positive reviews. There was no favour in the price. I’ve stayed in many cities in our country, and similar rooms could have cost INR500 less than what we paid. We had to ask three times for extra mattresses. They arrived late at night, at 11pm, when I was about to sleep on the floor on a mat I’d brought. One elderly man at reception was kind, and the boy there the next morning was kind too.

The rooms at Maharaja INN were clean and maintained, with moderately good basics and fairly spacious bathrooms. They aren’t luxurious, but for the price they were comfortable. The staff made the stay, though. They were very cooperative and helped us out: our room wasn’t ready when we arrived early, so they securely stored our luggage. Check-in is at 1 PM and checkout at 11 AM. We also had late-night travel and asked for a few minutes to freshen up after checkout, and they arranged it. The facilities are decent and as expected, while the service made things much easier. I’d recommend it for a comfortable, hassle-free stay, especially if accommodating staff matter to you.
