Hotel Alankar Grande

The hotel's location is really good, but the service has been extremely poor. I'm checked in right now, and when I ordered coffee and hot chocolate through room service at 7:15 in the morning, I was told they only bring coffee to rooms after 12:30 pm. Room service doesn't answer the phone, and there's nobody to help carry our luggage upstairs. They call themselves a 3 star hotel, which makes this especially disappointing.

The rooms and hotel grounds were clean, and the place felt like home. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the food was excellent. It's also handy for the main markets, with the corporation bus stand just a short walk away. Very good hotel and a comfortable place to stay. I'd give it 4/5 and recommend it.

The buffet was affordable, the whole place felt hygienic, and the service was very nice. I had a wonderful stay, especially good value for the money.

The way the receptionist spoke to me was the worst part of my stay. I had to check out on 9th of September, but my work was continuing, so that morning I asked whether a room would be available for the next day or if I should find another hotel. The receptionist said rooms were available. Later, when I asked my company to book one, they told me the hotel was fully booked. I had to leave work in the middle of the day and return to check out and find another place. I work in surgery support, and this also affected a patient's life because the surgery had to be delayed. When I asked why he hadn't clearly told me in the morning, he said, 'That is not my problem.' A senior person joined us and said, 'If you want to stay pay now or check - Out.' I lost patience and left with my belongings. I can't imagine anyone with self-respect choosing to stay after being treated that way. The room itself was old and in poor condition for about 2800 per day plus taxes. I asked for one king size bed and got double sharing instead. The toilet looked old, the flush didn't work properly, and nobody came to fix it after I complained. The hotel still uses a key for the door, while hotels charging similar rates around Coimbatore have card scanning. The photos online were either fake or showed a higher-end room, though I can't be sure they even have those rooms. Don't be taken in by the location, ambience, or pictures. For this price, there are better rooms and kinder service nearby. Please research other hotels before booking.
