Chetinaad Courtyard

The location worked well for us, with shops, restaurants and parking close by. I've stayed at cheaper and more expensive places in Kovai, and this is an easy choice for a business trip or a casual stay. The rooms and bathroom were clean, service was great, and the front desk stayed attentive through the night. I hope they keep it up.

Mr. Raja Sekar was so helpful, even going out of his way late at night to arrange a birthday cake for my wife. The hotel service was excellent, and it made for a really memorable experience.

Our guests left happy, and the reception turned out to be a big success. The food was more than perfect: a leaf service feast with every dish tasting great, and the staff served everyone patiently. Five stars for the Chef. The spacious Banquet hall handled our 100+ guests easily, with a well-sized stage and useful Audio Visual facilities. We booked the catering and hall at Chettinad Courtyard Gandhipuram and stayed there too for our Son's wedding Reception in December. The Royal Suites and inter connecting rooms were clean, including the bathrooms. Staff were helpful, quick to respond and dealt with requests promptly. The location in the city centre, near major areas and attractions, makes this a hotel I'd recommend. Parking is limited, though. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable, neither too soft nor too hard. With the double beds joined, there was enough room for two adults and two small kids. The AC worked well, Sun DTH had plenty of channels, and hot water from the individual concealed geyser was reliable. Breakfast was good and enough to start the day: Idly, dosa, pongal, vada, kesari, sambar, coconut and tomato chutney, plus tea or coffee. A juice might have made the kids happier. It was also useful to have purified drinking water in the restaurant and by reception. A few things could be better. Noise travelled into the room from the corridor and nearby rooms, above and next door. The linen and towels felt clean but looked dull, and could be better quality. Tea supplies, water bottles and toiletries should be provided for the number of guests, at least enough for two, since the guest count is known ahead of time. A glass divider or curtain around the shower would keep the rest of the bathroom drier. Hand wash by the basin and some tissues would help too. We stayed one night on a December weekend and had a good experience overall.
