The Blue Lagoon Hotel Premium

The dining area is small, so you usually have to wait, and even simple food like rice, Dal and a curry takes a long time to make and serve. The food itself is so-so, and the price feels high for the service. I don't think it's a good place to dine in. The name sounds premium, but the service doesn't.

There was no privacy, with an open window and a huge gap under the main door. You could hear people shouting from other rooms all night, and even after I mentioned it a couple of times, they started playing music loudly. A truly pathetic experience. If you want to ruin your sleep, come here. Worst hotel ever.

In Odisha, “Blue Lagoon” is mostly a name used by hospitality places for their branding and ambiance, rather than a natural lagoon. The Blue Lagoon Premium in Cuttack, for example, is a riverside hotel near the Kathajodi River, known for comfortable stays, modern facilities, scenic views, dining and authentic Odia cuisine. Other restaurants in Bhubaneswar also use the name. So the term here generally refers to hotels and dining spots, not a particular tourist waterbody like the famous natural blue lagoons elsewhere.

For what they charge, this place feels neglected and nowhere near the ratings. It shows 3.9, but I don't think it deserves even one star, despite charging prices similar to a 3-star hotel. The room smelled really bad when I walked in, so I had to ask for room freshener right away. The TV and AC weren't working properly, and the old bed was uncomfortable and poorly maintained. The bathroom was extremely unhygienic. I don't even want to describe it. Definitely not recommended.
