The Serene Nest

Kalyan, the caretaker, is a wonderful person and made sure everything we needed was taken care of. He also keeps the property clean and neat. The rooms were hygienic and clean. Serene Nest near Kolthare village is a great choice for a peaceful, stress-free stay, and I’d definitely recommend it.

Kolthare Beach was a standout for us, clean and beautiful, and the hidden trek to a rocky stretch of coast was a lovely surprise. One early morning, Suryakant took us there himself. Owner Suryakant and helper Kalyan were kind and generous, and warmly handled all our requests. This is a remote, quiet farmstay with greenery all around and no traffic outside. The property has three bedrooms, each with an attached bathroom, TV, fan, AC and WiFi. Two rooms have queen-size beds and private balconies; the third has three single beds and no balcony. Mango, cashew and coconut trees grow across the red-soil grounds. There are two hammocks, a bonfire area and games including Carrom, Badminton, Ludo, Foam Bat-Ball and Football. The home-cooked meals were full of flavour and worth the Rs.1300 PPPD, which covers lunch, evening tea, dinner and breakfast. The fish fry, chicken masala, kaju-matar masala, dal, solkadi, adhrak-wali chai, anda ghotala, gulab jamun and modak were all great. They get fresh fish from Harnai Port, make solkadi with coconuts from the farm, use their mangoes for pickles, and gave us sweet kesar mangoes from the orchard. There are a few drawbacks, especially in heavy rain. Power cuts can last 8-9 hours, while the inverter only lasts 3-4 hours. Flies come into the rooms and dining area after sunset, attracted by the lights during monsoon. Mobile coverage is limited to Jio and Vodafone, with no Airtel signal. WiFi could be faster. A stronger inverter to keep fans and lights on, better monsoon pest control around the grass and pool, bug zappers or mosquito racquets in every room, and a flattened area for box cricket would improve the stay.

We came back for our second visit and couldn’t imagine staying anywhere but 'The Serene Nest'. The green surroundings, the lovely brown nest and the kind people there made us feel comfortable and happy. The home-style meals were delicious, with fresh food made with care and no frozen ingredients. The seafood was especially tasty. They paid close attention to everything we needed. It really is "SERENE"❤️ and I highly recommend it.

The greenery around the property and its scenic setting made for a soothing break from city life. Mr. Suryakanth was involved with guests and made us feel at home, even taking us on a local trail with breathtaking views. We spent four days here with family and friends and had a fantastic time. The food was authentic, fresh, and served with a different menu each day based on our preferences. We were more than happy with both the meals and service. The rooms were clean and hygienic, and caretaker Kalyan was always ready to help with anything we asked. A must-visit property.
