Goroomgo Kasturi Palace Darjeeling

One thing I'd like the hotel to add is a heater in each room, since Darjeeling gets quite cold. Otherwise, we had a lovely stay at Hotel Kasturi Palace and Restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious, and the staff were very polite. Our car driver Uncle was professional, well-mannered, and safe on the roads. I'd highly recommend the place for its hospitality and transport service.

The staff were kind and friendly, and the food was excellent and tasty. But the hotel and restaurant were freezing. I'm disabled and use a wheelchair, and I was traveling with five other people, including two women nearly 80. The bedrooms were so cold and damp that our clothes got wet. We were told a heater would cost 500 rupees per night, later reduced to 400, but this charge wasn't mentioned on Booking.com and we hadn't budgeted for it. We tried to get by without one the first night, but gave in on the second because we were so cold. We asked for a heater in the restaurant too, but none was brought. In a cold hotel, an extra charge for a heater needs to be advertised.

I stayed at Kasturi Palace with my wife, son, and nephew, and we had a pleasant two-night visit. We arrived at 9:30 a.m. on January 23, 2026, and checked out at 10 a.m. on January 25, after traveling from Tura in Meghalaya. Our Room 302 was larger than expected, with a clear mountain view, and the toilet was neat and clean. The staff were helpful, and the food was excellent and tasty, though much too costly. There was no tali system in the restaurant, so we had to buy each curry separately. I'm disappointed by the prices, and hope they'll offer a tali system and lower them. My main positive feedback is for receptionist Miss Nikita Rai. She took responsibility for sending us the two packets of Dale Achar and a Water Flusk that my nephew accidentally left behind. She sent them through the Post Office, and they arrived safely without damage on February 9 at 12 p.m. I'm very grateful to Kanchi Miss Nikita Rai for her generous help. She's very good. We spent two days there with our whole group of friends, from December 31 to January 2. The third-floor room gave us majestic mountain views, and the rooms were very clean. Service was great, and the staff and owner were polite. I think the restaurant service could have been better, but we had a great experience overall.
