I came to volunteer at Tieedi Forest Farm and left with far more than I expected. The cottages are stunning, the food is incredible, and the air feels so clean. Most of all, the people welcomed me like family, and I got to be part of a loving community while doing a small bit for Mother Nature. A wonderful experience if you believe in living consciously alongside nature.

What stayed with me most was how the people made it feel like being part of a family, living with respect for nature. Huge respect to the team at Tieedi and Utsow for creating such a thoughtful experience. The place itself is a peaceful reset, with a cool breeze, warm sunlight, and architecture that sits beautifully in its surroundings while being sustainable. Spending time with their zero-waste ideas and practices really made me rethink how to shape a more peaceful, meaningful life.

I’m from sonada, and visiting tieedi was outstanding. I never imagined a place like this still existed in darjeeling. The cottages are unique, the infrastructure is cool, and the whole place is breathtaking and very well maintained. The owner has clearly put a lot of thought into caring for mother nature. I especially want to thank sahil for the wonderful tour. He was polite and explained the place so well. I’d rate him 9.9 out of 10. A lovely place to stay, visit, and connect with nature.

You can see the care put into every part of this cozy, magical retreat. It’s surrounded by peaceful greenery, and comfort blends naturally with the setting. Sustainable living is central here, and the eco-friendly practices are inspiring.

The host, Utsav ji, is an awesome human being. What impressed me was their work toward a waste-free village and the thought behind the property, from rainwater harvesting and organic farming to clever ways of upcycling. The host also arranges immersive hikes where guests can explore the hills and learn about local ecosystems. I found this peaceful spot near bustling Darjeeling town, and hadn’t expected to come across such an inspiring place in West Bengal. The views and cozy accommodation were lovely, but the host’s passion for hiking, permaculture, and sustainable living was the real highlight. It’s a chance to reconnect with nature, learn about sustainable living, and support an effort to build an eco-friendly community. Recommended if you want something meaningful beyond typical tourism.
