Viceroy Hotel

The other staff were good, polite, and helpful, but the restaurant manager’s behavior ruined the whole experience. He spoke very rudely and said, “This is not your home, this is my hotel. We only serve food till 9:30, otherwise go to other restaurants.” We came expecting basic hospitality and respectful communication, and instead felt unwelcome. Rules and timings can be explained politely, without insulting guests. The manager’s attitude was unprofessional and disrespectful, leaving a very bad impression. Customer service starts with management, so I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Please improve the manager’s behavior and professionalism. No customer deserves to be treated this way.

Waking up to the beautiful view from the room was one of the highlights of a relaxing stay. The rooms were spacious, exceptionally clean, and comfortable. Every meal, from breakfast to dinner, was fresh, flavorful, and consistently well prepared. The staff were helpful and attentive, keeping things smooth throughout. I’d love to visit again and highly recommend it for the comfort, cleanliness, food, and views.

We visited Viceroy Hotel in mid February and could see Kanchenjunga from our room. There’s also a viewing deck on top to enjoy the views. The location is great, just two minutes from mall road near Hotel Ramada. Our room was wooden and warm, with heaters provided in each room. The washrooms could be a little bigger. Breakfast was awesome, and the restaurant manager was very helpful and polite.

We had a nice terrace attached to our room, where we enjoyed cups of Darjeeling tea. The hotel faces Mt. Kanchenjungha and is very close to Mal Road. Rooms were neat and clean, and there’s a heritage pool table in reception. Staff were extremely cordial. Breakfast was very nice, with a moderate spread, and Mr. Vivek looked after us in the Dinining hall with great care and hospitality.
