Yashshree Sanderling

The food here was much better than at the Yashree hotel in Gangtok, and the location was handy, an easy walk from Mall Road. But we had several problems during our stay. Hot water was supposed to be available only from 7-10 in the morning and in the evening. On our first day there wasn't any even during those hours, which was difficult for my parents. We told reception, and they apologized. They may have heard the same complaint from other guests, because the next day hot water was available from 6am. Some room amenities were missing, including a hair dryer, which we had to request from reception. The towels didn't look clean and seemed reused without proper washing, so we asked for replacements. We were there in the last week of May 2026, when the weather was unpredictable. The first night was hot, then cold early in the morning, and there wasn't even a fan in the room. I woke up sweating a couple of times. The weather improved the next day, so it wasn't as much of a hassle. I understand not having AC in a hill station, but a fan would be useful with weather changing like this.

Priya from the restaurant deserves a special mention for helping us and making sure we were well looked after. The staff were courteous and helpful throughout, and service was prompt and well managed. The food was good, too. At Yashshree Sanderling, Mall Road, our room was clean, comfortable, well maintained, and had a pleasant feel. The property is right on Mall Road, so exploring Darjeeling's main attractions, restaurants, and shops was easy. We had a very satisfying stay. It's a good choice for families and couples wanting a comfortable, central base. I'd recommend it and would stay again.

The buffet is unlimited, with tasty food and a good range of cuisines. The rooms were nice and spacious, and the staff were very good and polite. The location worked well for us, just behind St. Andrew's Church and an easy walk to Mall road. There was nice parking space available too.
