Hotel Abhinandan

We were told the six-person room would cost ₹2,000, then at checkout they insisted on ₹3,000, saying it was in a “premium” category. The room was extremely basic and nowhere near worth even the first quote. Even in the off-season, the price felt like a rip-off. They draw you in with a low quote and raise the bill when you’re ready to leave. Avoid.

We left after one night even though we had booked two. The room was miserable: it smelled bad, wasn’t clean, had poor lighting, and the bathroom was leaking. No toiletries were provided, and there was no kettle. Since our one-year-old needed milk, we asked the staff to boil some and they charged ₹50. The amount itself wasn’t the issue, but the staff member brought the milk and demanded payment first, before handing it over. Nothing about the hotel was good.

Hotel Abhinandan was a terrible experience, with high prices and no real service. The room smelled awful, had spider webs, and the blanket was so filthy and foul-smelling it nearly made me vomit. We even found used condoms hanging from the bathroom taps. There were no “No Smoking” signs. When we complained about guests smoking heavily in their rooms, staff just said they were doing it in their own rooms. Nobody spoke to them or took any action. Those guests later fought in the middle of the night after drinking, shouting loudly and abusively, and hotel staff still did nothing to intervene. I wouldn’t give this hotel a single star. Think twice before booking.

Mall Road was clearly visible from our room, and the location was nice. The room itself was spacious, though cleanliness could be better and several floor tiles were broken, so it needs refurbishment. They use a solar water heater, which meant hot water was only available during the day, not at night. There was no electric kettle either. Foreigners are allowed to stay.
