Hotel Sun Grand

The rooms were cramped and depressing, with no windows, sunlight, or ventilation. The bathroom exhaust was the only source of airflow, and there was barely room to walk or open luggage. The lobby felt just as suffocating, with no proper ventilation or AC. There was only ONE charging point in the room, and the electric kettle was already using it. During our 9-day stay at Hotel Sun Grand, service and housekeeping were awful. We were told cleaning happened only on alternate days, between 12 PM to 3 PM, and one day they skipped it because housekeeping was “not available.” Towels, bedsheets, and pillow covers looked USED and UNWASHED. The receptionist was rude and disrespectful from the start. We booked through MakeMyTrip after the hotel suggested booking online for a cheaper rate. There was no welcome or help, and he just threw the keys at us. The room lock stopped working within the first hour, so I went to reception THREE TIMES to get it fixed. Each time, he was rude and acted as if helping guests was a burden. Security was another serious problem. Anyone could enter from the street by lift or stairs and reach any floor. There were no guards or checks, and the entrance stayed accessible at night. Staff said, “We have CCTV.” CCTV only records something if it happens, it doesn’t prevent it. That felt completely unsafe for families. Breakfast was included in our booking, but the hotel couldn’t provide proper service. The limited choices were aloo paratha or paneer paratha, and once sandwich or puri bhaji. The buffet photos online were misleading. After the third day, we were told the “chef was unavailable.” The receptionist kept saying breakfast was available, but the restaurant refused to serve us. Other guests were getting breakfast while we were turned away because we had booked online. Staff literally said, “You booked online, talk to them.” It felt like they stopped caring after taking payment through the booking platform. The photos and reviews didn’t match what we experienced. The hotel had rude staff, poor service, misleading breakfast claims, and no real security. It felt more focused on manipulating ratings than improving guests’ experience.
