Come for the breathtaking view and take in the place moment by moment. The home-stay was amazing, with clean rooms and decent food, though it isn't a lavish 5-Star stay. It's about a 15-20 minute trip from Library Chowk, Mussoorie. Having your own car or two-wheeler is useful; otherwise, check with taxi drivers near the Taxi stand on Mall Road. Nature has a lot to offer here.

The second room, OYO Home 14132 Elegant BHK, had the same problems as Oak Cottage: cobwebs everywhere and an unclean bathroom. After the first stay, that was another disappointment. I booked two Oyo 1BHK concepts for two nights, 07 Jun,19- 08 Jun,19 at Oyo Oak Cottage 1 BHK Mussorie, then 08Jun,19- 09 Jun,19 at the other room. The hotelier never explained the approach, even though I asked several times. It's far down a steep route, and a low-clearance car like a honda city won't make it. VIMAL, the OYO hotel booking agent, assured me he had found the right rates, but he didn't know the on-ground situation and misdirected me. The Oak Cottage room was extremely dirty. The caretaker just said it was like that and offered no help. Water kept dripping from the geyser in the pathetic bathroom, the plastic bucket was half burnt, the wash basin hadn't been washed, the bedsheets hadn't been changed, tables were dusty, and the walls had cobwebs. I paid 4K for a stay of no more than five hours, when ideally this sort of room should have cost only INR 500. No standards at all. I wouldn't recommend booking these hotels. Book through Goibibo or Yatra instead, never OYO.

The service was good, and I still miss it.
