Pleasant City View Stays Railway Station Dehradun

Foreign visitors should know about this before booking: being close to the railway station may make the property seem convenient, but they refused to host us because foreigners supposedly aren’t allowed by law. They then suggested another property rated 3.5 stars. Booking.com says nothing about this major issue. Very disappointing.

We booked through booking.com and, once there, were politely told they couldn’t accommodate foreigners because of paperwork. They pointed us toward another place. Sharing this so international travellers know in advance.

I booked ahead for my father, but when he arrived they said there was no reservation in his name, even though I had confirmation. He was left to deal with it alone, which was stressful and embarrassing for an elderly guest. Staff offered no apology, solution, or backup plan, and didn’t seem willing to help. That lack of care and professionalism was unacceptable. I was very disappointed and wouldn’t stay here if I wanted peace of mind while travelling.

A standard room really was bare-bones: the toilet seat was broken, and there were no towels or standard sheets, no hot water, and the AC unit was broken. If those basics don’t matter to you, then go ahead. Otherwise, I’d choose a hotel chain with a reputation.
