Ramada by Wyndham Dehradun Chakrata Road

Breakfast was a highlight, with delicious food, plenty of variety and a wide choice of spreads. Everything seemed fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and the chef was humble and kind. My room was spacious, well maintained and very clean, and the staff were courteous, supportive and always ready to help with a smile. It was a comfortable, relaxing stay and I'd definitely recommend the hotel.

The food and service at the rooftop restaurant were commendable, thanks to the F&B Manager and Neha, who understood how poor our stay had been and made a real effort to help us enjoy dinner. That was the one bright spot. We had three rooms at Ramada yesterday, and I had first decided not to write about the unpleasant stay, but what happened this morning made me feel I had to share it. We chose this property over other Dehradun hotels mainly for the pool, hoping to relax with a swim at the end of our trip. Instead, it was covered with fungus, and the pool washrooms were unhygienic and smelled terrible. The problems started at late-evening check-in: refrigerators in two rooms didn't work, the towels were stained and looked like cleaning cloths, and there were visible chunks of dirt in rooms that hadn't been cleaned properly. The reception lady seemed uninterested in understanding or fixing our concerns. To be fair, the manager listened, but the only offer was complimentary breakfast, with nothing meaningful done to improve the stay. Calling for help was frustrating too: one extension sent me to another number, which then sent me back to the first. Even simple requests became difficult. It's genuinely disappointing to see a hotel with the Ramada name fall so far below expectations. We came expecting a comfortable, well-maintained stay and instead found one disappointment after another.

Room service was great, the location is good, and there's rooftop dining too. The food gets 4/5. It's still a bit far from the airport. Dehradun itself is an amazing place, though, so go out and enjoy it instead of staying inside the hotel.

The poor staff and hospitality ruined our trip and stay. The staff need capacity-building training to work in hospitality, and the infrastructure isn't good either. Better to choose a local 3-star hotel than this place.
