The Hosteller Mussoorie, Mall Road

I found this hostel safe, comfortable, and well managed, and would recommend it to students or working professionals. The location is easy to reach and makes daily travel convenient. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and maintained well; the staff and management were friendly, supportive, and ready to help. Security and hygiene were handled well, giving me peace of mind. The service quality was impressive, and staying here was stress-free.

The property was spotless and beautifully kept, with a welcoming atmosphere that made the stay enjoyable. Mr. Sunil deserves a special mention for being humble, courteous, and very helpful throughout. Hospitality and service were commendable. The food was average, though well prepared. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend it.

We ended up booking a different hotel because the experience was that bad. The dorm room felt cramped and extremely shady. I’ve stayed in dorms with go stops, zostel, moustache, other brands, and Hosteller on a previous bike ride, and this was one of the worst hostel locations I’ve encountered. I don’t usually write negative reviews when a place is merely okay, but this was below that. It isn’t on Mall Road: you have to walk down from tibetian market and then take a vehicle down to the parking area, where only two wheelers can go. Parking was pathetic, with barely enough room to turn bikes, let alone cars. We booked dorms for six people. The staff here didn’t seem willing to offer guidance, unlike the welcoming and courteous team at Kasar devi Hosteller.

A quiet, budget-friendly base that works well for backpackers. It’s very close to Library Chowk, handy to reach while still tucked away enough for a peaceful stay. Hot water and other essentials are provided, and ordering food through their app is convenient.
