I paid high rates at Hotel Solitaire Express, but the facilities and service fell well below what that price should get you. My recent stay was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. The food was poor, with issues around freshness, taste, and quality control. The room hygiene was also extremely bad: the bedsheets weren't clean, and the worn-out towels smelled unpleasant. It seemed like basic housekeeping and sanitisation had been neglected. The staff were rude and uncooperative when I raised problems, rather than offering the courtesy and support you'd expect. There were also unexplained changes to the advance amount, with no proper communication, which left me concerned about billing transparency. For the high price, the facilities were below average. Hotel Solitaire Express performs far below acceptable hospitality standards, and I'd advise travellers to look at other options in the city.

The hotel is good value for money, and its location is a big plus, with plenty of options nearby. I stayed in both the standard and premier rooms. They have the same layout and look, and the AC works well. The bathroom was neat and clean, though the rooms themselves could be cleaner. I didn't eat there, so I can't comment on the food. Some things needed fixing: the lift and hot water weren't working, and both were sorted just before I checked out. Staff responded and brought hot water in buckets while they dealt with it. The TV remote also gave them a hard time. They tried their best, but eventually gave up because its volume button wouldn't work.

There were insects and cockroaches, and the room smelled bad. The room condition was awful, and I had a horrible stay. Avoid, avoid.

For the price shown on Agoda, this place was crap. The rooms badly need an upgrade, and there was no real privacy because I could hear every sound from nearby rooms. One of the most pathetic hotels I've stayed in.

We had booked six rooms, and they were all in horrible condition. The bathrooms weren't clean, and water was leaking through the ceiling. There was no food service, and with no water available, I wondered how they were preparing food. They offered us no alternative. It was a horrible feeling, and paying extra isn't the issue, paying for service like this is. Rooms were supposed to be allocated at 2 pm under the policy, but they hadn't been cleaned. There was no water in the hotel, and nobody seemed concerned when we waited at reception asking when it would come back. At first they said there was no water, then at 12:30 in the middle of the night they said the pump wasn't working. This was the worst experience I've had with this hotel. I'll never recommend it.
