The staff were friendly and their attitude was 10/10, but I’d rate the rooms 1/10. They weren’t maintained properly, and the washroom tap was leaking. I hate seeing water wasted. They should have provided a welcome kit with soap and shampoo. The free breakfast choices were limited. Since I’m lactose intolerant, lactose-free milk would have been helpful. I’d also be happy with unlimited breakfast options at no extra charge.

The view at night was gorgeous, and staying there made me feel like I was in heaven. The atmosphere is amazing, the food is extraordinary, and the price is affordable. They have camps and bonfires at night. Everyone should enjoy the nature views at least once.

The hotel was being renovated when I visited, but I didn’t feel inconvenienced as a guest. The staff seemed very nice and cooperative, and I had a very good experience.

I came back out of nostalgia, not to stay. In the early 90s I used to visit Dehradun for business with ONGC and stayed at this hotel umpteen times. Back then it was one of the best hotels in Dehradun, and the only one with a swimming pool. Now it’s under renovation. It sounds like one floor may remain a boutique hotel and the rest will become commercial space. I was sad to hear that Mr Gandhi Sr is no more, but glad to see his son carrying on Mr Gandhi’s legacy and dreams. I wish him all the best.

The room was comfortable and had hot water, but it was dusty. The TV was disappointing, with only a few channels available and most of them regional. An Android TV would make the experience better. The curtains also don’t cover the windows properly, so people outside can easily see into the room.
