East End Retreat

The landlady is warm and ready to help with travel and transport plans. It feels like a homely place in a large bungalow where she probably rents out individual rooms. The rooms are spacious, with a shared balcony-style sitting area and a common living room on each floor. A good stay!

The staff were friendly, and the big advantage is how close it is to the metro, with decent food nearby. This is an average B&B, fine if you just need somewhere to sleep and have breakfast before heading out. For the price, I’d expect a bottle of water and basic bath items like soap and shampoo. The fixtures were average, and cleanliness was close to unacceptable. Sometimes you’ll need to ring the outside gate bell a few times before anyone lets you in. Room service also makes random calls because apparently they don’t know which room called, so they ring every room back. One gentleman knocked on my door, then said he had the wrong room.

The owners are friendly, and the rooms are big and spacious, but the bedsheets and washroom didn’t seem very hygienic. I think the price is high for what you get. It’s a villa with the hotel rooms on the first floor and above, rather than a complete hotel. There’s no food or breakfast available on demand, so be prepared to go out even for a good coffee. The location is A+, within walking distance of Preet Vihar Metro Station and plenty of eateries.

We booked three rooms and a suite. The suite was spacious and clean, and all the restrooms were very clean. Two of the rooms had minor problems, including mold in some corners. It was a great experience overall and good value.
