Hotel Airport Shoba

The building looks good, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you expect professional staff or decent follow-up after payment. I spent five days here for work, and the staff’s rude, unprofessional conduct became clear once I’d paid. They also don’t seem to like guests sitting in the hall or on the sofa, and want people to stay inside their rooms. There was a foul smell around the property. The tea was good, but the food was poor: watery dal, watery raita, bad rotis, and security staff serving the paneer curry. My ratings: food 2 stars, staff minus 1, building 4, management 2.5, rooms 2-3. Overall, 2 stars from me.

They charged me four times the room price when I was alone at 4 a.m. and had nowhere else to go. They also claimed card payment wasn't possible and tried to get euros from me using a rate they had made up. Then they made me leave at 4 a.m. and refused to call a taxi. The way they treated me felt like mental abuse. This hotel is dangerous, and I believe they are scammers. I would have called the police if I’d had time.

I ended up here because taxi drivers outside Delhi airport brought me to this hotel instead of the one I had booked. I believe the drivers and hotel have a taxi scheme to steer unsuspecting tourists here for profit. My lesson is to avoid taxis outside the airport. The ride cost me 1,500 INR, they charged an 18% credit card fee, and the room was $87 USD a night despite having a broken water heater. The luggage helpers slammed the door on me when I didn’t tip them for carrying my bags. Avoid this hotel if you can.

The main problem during our recent stay at Grand Shobha Hotel was the lack of cleanliness. Our room wasn't properly kept, and the washroom hadn't been cleaned before we checked in. Cleanliness is a basic part of a hotel stay, so I hope management takes the housekeeping issues seriously and addresses them quickly. The location and service may have potential, but hygiene needs immediate attention.
