I only stayed here because it was close to NHI hospital, where my nephew was admitted. The room walls had water seepage, and it looked like they’d tried to hide it with sofas. Once I moved them, it was plain to see. Food service wasn’t available on the first day, and even tea took nearly an hour. This hotel isn’t worth the price, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
The staff were affectionate and friendly, and they kindly made Khichdi for me at night when I had an upset stomach. They deserve recognition for working hard and being so efficient. The rest of the stay was disappointing. The rooms were pathetic, maybe two stars, and the place doesn’t deserve more than that on Google. I managed five nights here, which is why I’m leaving this review. It’s on the first floor with no lift, so it’s not suitable for a family carrying luggage. The window AC units were extremely noisy. There’s no restaurant, though they do have some cooking arrangements.
The rooms didn’t match the Google photos, and most of the TV set-top boxes didn’t work, just seemed to be there for show. They charged Rs.50 for a dental kit and Rs.40 per water bottle, even though I thought these were complimentary. The receptionist only speaks Hindi. If you’re not North Indian, they treat you carelessly and cheat you, based on my experience. If you have no other options, you can book here, but I’d suggest going elsewhere.
We got the room for around 950 a night after using promo codes and vouchers on MakeMyTrip, and at that price the hotel was very, very good. Kailash colony metro station is about 700 meters away, so the location worked well. The staff were helpful, the bed was very comfortable, and the room and toilet were clean. Hot water was available 24/7 and the AC worked well, though the TV didn’t. They charged us 40 for water bottles, whose MRP was 20, but I don’t hold it against them, it seemed reasonable. Overall, Hotel la ola was a pleasant experience.
The rooms were much worse than they looked in the pictures, with old furniture and fittings and poor AC. This feels more like a Sarai or Dharmshala than a 3 star hotel. Not recommended.
