The service was a real plus, with attentive, helpful staff throughout, and the tour packages they offer were very good. The property itself didn’t live up to the photos, though. Its appearance and condition weren’t as advertised, so I can’t rate it highly on that. Better maintenance and presentation would make a difference.

Vertu Hotel is very close to the airport, handy for an early flight or a short transit stay. It shares premises with several hotels, including Viva Palace, but I found Vertu better kept overall. My room was tidy, modern and well organised, with a comfortable bed. The room, bathroom and linens were all fresh and neat, and seemed better maintained than many nearby places. For the price, the room quality impressed me. Staff were polite and quick to help, from check-in through room service. In-room dining was decent and arrived on time. Breakfast was simple, but fine for a short stay.

We couldn’t get a good night’s sleep: the fan was very noisy, and the AC wouldn’t work when we tried it instead. There were lots of mosquitoes, but after we told the staff, they gave us repellent, which we appreciated. The room was spacious, at least. Breakfast was a buffet in name, with very few options and little variety. Overall, it was a disappointing stay and didn’t feel worth it.
