For most of the day, our room had no running water or electricity, and we were charged more than twice the amount first shown on the booking site. The rooms were dirty and had small bugs that left painful rashes. Staff were openly rude and unhelpful, ignored us, and stared at their phones. This was by far the most frustrating and disappointing stay of our three-week trip around India. I’d strongly warn people away if they want to avoid a terrible time in New Delhi.

We only paid 1250 rupees after the price changed three times in ten minutes, but that was still twice our confirmed Booking.com rate of 6.80€ (around 500 rupees). The receptionist first said 6000 rupees, then the price dropped to 3000 when we objected, and finally a manager said 1250. We paid, though the whole thing felt dishonest. We’d landed here after booking a different hotel on Booking.com and getting redirected by a message from the manager. Later, we saw reviews from other tourists describing the same situation. We also asked them to arrange the airport shuttle included in our reservation. They asked three times what time we needed it, 11:30 PM, but when we went to the lobby then, the receptionist said it wasn’t included and would cost extra. He even acted as if he couldn’t understand English. When we requested an invoice to claim a refund, he laughed at us. Completely unprofessional. Luckily, the kind, welcoming Indian people who treated us like family for nearly a month are nothing like this.

The receptionist refused to accept my Agoda booking, even after I showed it to him. Instead of helping, he told me I wouldn’t get anything for 500 rupees these days. I had to find and book another hotel that same day. The owner should make sure staff know how to handle customer bookings. They don’t seem professional, and the reviews here aren’t good either. I wouldn’t recommend booking here unless they improve.

I couldn’t get proper directions or even a landmark from the hotel, and they weren’t able to guide my Uber driver. I’d booked through booking.com because the listing said it was near the US embassy, and Google Maps also showed an address there. But after taking an Uber to the location on their website, there was no hotel nearby, even though Google and Uber Maps both said we’d arrived. When I called, they said the hotel was near the airport. Something seems fishy about the directions.
