OYO 82676 Aashiana Residency

The place felt unsafe from the start. Getting there meant winding through the lanes of Nangal Dewat village, where autos and taxis likely wouldn't go. The room I was first offered was inside a gym compound near the ridge, with high-tension wires directly above it. It reminded me of Osama Bin Laden's Abottabad hideout. I asked for a room in the main building shown in the picture and eventually got one, but it wasn't in good shape: stained linen, a floor that hadn't been swept in days, and a dusty balcony with mango peels, mango seeds, and cigarette butts. The bathroom had a stained commode and basin, plus a rusty floor that stayed wet. I had paid OYO in full when booking, but on arrival I was told there were no rooms available. After arguing, they found the room in the gym compound. That left me with serious doubts about whether the booking app could be trusted. There seemed to be very little staff, with no room service or housekeeping. The AC stayed at 16°C and there was no remote. I can't recommend this place. The location and accommodation both call for a better option. I understand the owners may be trying to earn money with limited means, but trying to make things work "somehow or the other" doesn't work in hospitality.
