The bathroom was filthy, with a nearly black commode and a strong smell, and the room had mosquitoes. I checked in around 10 a.m. for a six-day booking from Sunday, September 1 to Saturday, September 7, costing Rs.2763 through Make my Trip. It was OYO 36485 Flagship SMG Heritage in Shakarpur, Laxmi Nagar, Delhi. I saw someone complaining at reception as I arrived, but had to leave for work, so I handed over the keys around 10:30 and asked them to clean the room before I returned. When I came back at 5 p.m., they said the washroom had been cleaned, but it hadn’t. Other guests were also making complaints. After the receptionist checked with staff, someone came and just splashed water on the floor, wiped it with a wiper, then dried it with a mop. He insisted the commode was clean and couldn’t get any better. I asked him to mop my room too, where his shoe prints were, but he was about to use the same mop from the dirty, smelly bathroom. I had to ask him to get another one. The unhygienic washroom and the unethical, rude behavior from the staff and manager left me frustrated. I checked out immediately. When I told the man at reception, he didn’t ask why. He asked me to rate the hotel, and when I said it would be a negative rating, he laughed instead of apologizing. The staff have no manners. I’m attaching photos of the bathroom with this mail. I want a full refund: although I was checked in for seven hours, I didn’t stay in the room for even one hour because of this awful experience. Please look into it and inspect the hotel. The staff need to be changed because they don’t know how to speak to customers.

The bathroom door had no working latch, the cistern was broken, there was no water bottle in the room, and the bedsheet was torn. After I called reception more than three times, they finally brought an extra mattress. The kitchen was a mess too, without basics like milk to make morning tea. They were strict about check-in rules and ID proofs even though we were with family. That part is their duty, but when it came to service and accountability, they were careless. They couldn’t provide basic amenities even though we were ready to pay. This was my worst experience at Oyo flagship Smg Heritage Hotel in Shakarpur New Delhi. If zero ratings were possible, I’d give that. Don’t waste your money here.

The receptionist was nice and prompt, but the service was poor. We called reception many times for drinking water and still didn’t get it on time. The TV had no channels activated, there was no mirror in the room, and the bedsheet should be changed after every guest. Please put a mat at the bathroom entrance too, and improve the food and beverage service.

The staff were courteous and helpful, and they cleaned the bathroom problems up pretty quickly. The room itself was clean, but the bathroom wasn’t great: the flush leaked and the drain was blocked. The restaurant was closed for some reason, and there are hardly any hotels nearby. Food apps worked, so it wasn’t much of an issue.

We spent two days here. It’s an okay place, good enough for a traveler to rest at the end of the day, though not the best. The one basic service that let me down was drinking water. We called reception several times, but it wasn’t provided on time. That’s just based on my experience.
