During my six-week stay, the broken elevator was a daily problem. The hotel has two, but one stayed out of service the whole time, so I repeatedly walked up and down from the fourth floor. I saw no real effort to get it fixed. The phones on that floor also didn’t work, and the toilets wouldn’t flush properly. The rooms were muggy because the air conditioning didn’t work. I heard several other guests report the same thing, and staff seemed to act only after someone made a scene at the desk. We asked for air purifiers, but the units delivered were broken and nobody repaired or replaced them. Housekeeping left rooms short on toiletries, didn’t clean thoroughly, and often ignored the Do Not Disturb sign. Requests were painfully slow. I called four times for an extra bed before going downstairs to push for it, and only then did my parents confirm it had arrived. When I asked for luggage help, no one showed up, so I carried it myself. Those are just a couple of examples. The staff could be very rude. When I came down with problems, some looked at guests dismissively, as if the complaints were a joke. Almost every time I crossed the lobby, someone else seemed to be arguing with staff. It felt routine, with free meals or coffee offered instead of fixing the underlying issues. There was also poor communication between employees. Asking for a manager meant explaining everything all over again. After we checked out of one room and my family combined into one room because we wouldn’t pay for two, the hotel still tried to charge us for another night. Staff apparently hadn’t passed that information along. This was easily the worst five-star hotel I’ve stayed in.
