The main problem was the lack of clear communication. I repeatedly asked for the location of Square Inn Cosmopolitan, Bengaluru, but never received it, and Hotel Square Inn was not showing on Google either. I booked through Agoda and paid everything in advance, yet was asked for more money when I arrived. Agoda was unable to resolve it, and calls to the hotel went unanswered. The whole situation was a serious inconvenience, and I wouldn't recommend staying here.
After I escalated what happened, I did get a full refund, and I have reported the incident. At check-in, though, the owner wouldn't honor my confirmed, fully paid Goibibo booking and demanded more money. I felt I had to pay it to get a room and feel safe after a long trip. He also questioned me in an invasive and inappropriate way about why I was in the city, and his aggressive manner made me feel cornered and targeted. The experience was terrible. I wouldn't stay here if I cared about my privacy or money; confirmed bookings and guests' basic rights didn't seem to matter.
The room itself was in awful shape: stained, bad-smelling sheets and linens, plus cockroaches all over the bathroom. Later that night, we could hear the guy shouting at other guests and asking them for extra money at checkout. We had booked Square Inn through Booking.com for a short airport transit stay at a confirmed ₹1,540 including taxes. Afterward, the owner, Harsha Surya, messaged me on WhatsApp about airport pickup and drop-off. When I asked where the hotel was, he wouldn't give the exact location and kept trying to get us to take his transport. When we arrived, he let us check in without formalities. A few hours later, when I went to pay, he started shouting and said the room was ₹4,000 per night. He even yelled that he could rent it for ₹20,000. I showed him the Booking.com confirmation, but he kept arguing, and since it was late at night, we ended up having to pay ₹2,800. This was an extremely unpleasant stay. The management was aggressive and unprofessional, and the place wasn't hygienic or trustworthy. I'd urge families and solo travelers to avoid it.
The room had no AC or Wi-Fi, and there wasn't even Wi-Fi available at the hotel. Hygiene and amenities were poor, and the promises made on OYO weren't delivered. The staff's behavior was very unprofessional. I've attached photos.
The owner and reception staff were awful, and the behavior was very rude. They canceled my room without telling me and charged more money. This place is money-focused and isn't suitable for a family stay. Worst experience. Please don't book, even if it's free.
