Taj Bangalore

The rooms are great, and the staff are very good and polite. Terminal 1 is literally within walking distance. One catch: taxi apps can't pick up from the hotel, so you need to walk about 5 minutes to the Terminal 1 Uber pickup point. A heads-up at check-in would have been helpful. The food wasn't to my taste. Given the guest mix, it may be aimed more at foreign palates, which is okay.

Cafe 77 was another letdown. Two of our three beer glasses were very dirty, though we noticed before the drinks were poured. My dish arrived 30 minutes after the others, and I couldn't tell whether the order had been forgotten. I also never got a reply when a colleague and I asked about airport transfers. A third colleague finally heard back from reception shortly before the trip. The staff were apologetic and arranged a new room quickly each time, which is why I'm giving two stars for service. I had to switch rooms twice. Right after checking in, I found what looked like blood stains on a pillow and hair on the bedding. Two nights later, in the next room, I stumbled over what appeared to be tick bugs in the bathroom on both mornings, then spotted another tick on the couch during the day. I packed up and asked to move again. After that, I didn't feel comfortable spending another night there. The public areas and exterior look very nice, but the rooms feel dated and poorly serviced. I found a nicer hotel in central Bangalore.

Our first stay at TAJ left us with a lovely memory, thanks to the staff. Avantika welcomed us warmly, supported us throughout, and surprised us with a Club room upgrade and a decorated room with a birthday cake for my wife. The dining staff were great too. Dinesh from concierge helped arrange our airport transport, and Neha gave us a pleasant send-off at checkout. It was a wonderful, heartfelt stay, and we'll definitely return to TAJ.

We were given a room upgrade, and Neha made everything easy with her helpful service. The hotel was very accommodating for our toddler and let us check out late. I accidentally broke a toiletries bottle and offered to pay for it, but they didn't charge us. We also got a framed photo of us as part of the hotel's 10th anniversary, such a sweet surprise. Those thoughtful touches made our stay at Taj Bangalore lovely.
