I might stay here again if other options were unavailable. It's a practical choice for a simple night, with fair value for money and a convenient location near a few places of interest. The stay was functional, with a quick check-in and polite front desk staff who weren't especially warm. My standard-size room was acceptably clean, the bed was moderately comfortable, and the linens were clean but not luxurious. The bathroom was basic, hot water pressure was inconsistent, and the AC struggled. Hallway noise came through at times. Wi-Fi was just enough for emails, while video streaming kept cutting out. I tried the complimentary breakfast once, a typical continental spread I forgot soon after. Nothing was particularly offensive, but nothing stood out either.

The room was large, but nothing else made the price seem justified. There was no packaged drinking water or hot water, so I had to bathe in cold water. Maintenance was poor throughout, including a rusty lift, a badly kept lavatory, and a bathtub with such low water flow it was practically unusable. There was no visible surveillance or security, which added to my discomfort. I booked Hotel Bharani through Agoda using the details on its platform, and found a lodge presented as a hotel. I'm not sure whether Agoda or the property is responsible, but neither seems willing to acknowledge or correct the listing. When I contacted Agoda, the conversation focused on the assumption that I wanted a refund. I kept explaining that my main concern was fixing the misleading information for future customers, but that wasn't addressed. Changing photos or the front view doesn't turn a lodge into a hotel. It's disappointing that the inaccurate details are still there despite repeated communication.

My partner and I were shocked when the receptionist told us unmarried couples weren't allowed. That policy hadn't been mentioned on the website or while booking. The receptionist was very rude and unhelpful, and they refused to refund our booking. I'd advise unmarried couples to look elsewhere. The hotel should be clearer about its policies and train staff to handle situations with empathy and professionalism.

You can walk to the boat ride, temple, and sunrise point from here. The location is very good. The room was okay, though not the best, and there was no TV or view. Parking might be tricky if the lot is full.
