Akash Regency by OYO Rooms

The place was nice and the staff were pleasant. The bathroom tap could use some improvement, but otherwise the facilities were decent for the price, 1100 a day for two adults. I guess everything else was fine.

My room experience wasn’t good, and the ambience needs work. Nothing seemed to work on the first try, so I had to ask management for each facility, including the AC, geyser, and cleaning. They also charged extra for a bed for the third person.

The service was awful, and I waited nearly an hour just to get into the room. There’s only one hallway, with every room right next to reception, so there’s no privacy. The bed had no pillowcase and a stale sheet, the window was broken, and they didn’t provide a blanket or towel. There wasn’t even water or handwash.

Getting luggage upstairs was a problem since the hotel is on the fourth floor of a shopping center and there’s no proper way to move bags from the main road. One lift was out of service, and the other shuts after the shops close at night. The watchmen weren’t cooperative, there was only one attendant upstairs, and the manager was absent. The room had cockroaches everywhere, filthy toilets, no proper hot water in the geyser, and no drinking water bottle. OYO’s three-star rating is shocking. This was disgusting, below an average budget hotel, and a harrowing overnight stay for me and my son. Please don’t visit.
